Teen Horizons

” For good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, community knowledge, opportunities, guidance, debate, and sometimes conflict” — Margaret Heffernan quote slightly revised.

We live in the age where every field is changing so fast;  intriguing new ideas and concepts are emerging. We are lucky to be part of the community who is at the forefront of innovation and brilliant ideas.

We are excited to start this series of talks to expose and encourage tweens/teens in the community to explore different fields of interest by inviting the specialist in the community to talk about their work, their personal journey about how they got interested in that area, and what the future of that area looks like. There will be 10 minutes of Q&A followed by the talk. We would also have a resource list to explore further on that topic by the interested student.

We are looking for a variety of fields/disciplines to be represented– theatre, art history, law, medicine, engineering, and much more. Members, spouses, and their children plan to meet six times a year with our first meeting in September.  We will meet in members’ homes from 3:30-5 pm.  All children above 10 years of age are welcome.   This section is being organized by Eileen Landay and Ruchi Goyal.   Their email information is in the Redbook and the Preview newsletter. Please send us an email if you would like more information about this new group
