Audrey Gold and her team of smart event experts are working hard on the coming year’s programs. To get started, they will take SUWC to Chateau Carolands in Hillsborough. For more intriguing details about the mansion, see the upcoming KQED series, The Heiress and Her Chateau. The TV schedule is shown here. The story of Chateau Carolands is a 100 year saga of a 100 room mansion. Built by one of the richest women in the world, the Chateau is a three dimensional window into life among America’s elite, a tale of wealth and ruin. The tours will take place in October. Sign-ups will happen later this fall.

The Oxford English Dictionary (the informal sections, of course) defines “selfie” as follows: A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website. We were told that we could not photograph the art, but they didn’t say we couldn’t photograph ourselves. If you’d like to see other paparazzi, see the photo gallery to the left. We were treated to Jasper Johns, Chuck Close, Tobias Putrih and a host of others. Terrific!IMG_9478
